Do you want to be a part of something big? Part of something worldwide?
#GivingTuesday started as a grass roots effort encouraging us to stop and think about all the good being done all over the world through non-profits. Now, it is so easy to not just think about it, but be a part of philanthropy around the globe.
This year, at Covenant Heights, we are finishing up a campaign that started with #GivingTuesday 2015: A New and Improved Low Ropes Challenge Course. About three years ago, the inspectors told us that our Low Ropes Course was no longer safe and usable due to beetle infestation and dead trees. Our Low Ropes Course is used by our guest groups, school groups, and summer camps- almost everyone who comes to camp! The Low Ropes Course offers lessons in team-building, listening skills, and problem-solving like nothing else on camp. Participants spend time in the beautiful outdoors, figuring out how to accomplish a task as a team. They must listen and offer ideas on how to successfully complete each challenge.
Last year, we were hoping for $10,000 to put in enough new elements to keep things fun, new, and interesting. We raised $2070 which helped us put in three new elements: Trust V, Whale Watch, and Zig-Zag. Thank you to everyone who donated!
This year, we have an exciting new way to help us reach our new goal of $5,000 to complete the course. You can set up your own fundraising page for the Covenant Heights #GivingTuesday Low Ropes Course Campaign! Check out our project video and click here to make YOUR fundraising page!
With the money that is donated this year, we will build a Nitro Swing, Portal, and Meuse…..Do you want to be part of this project at camp? We are looking for 50 fantastic fans of Covenant Heights to make a page, ask 5 (or more) of their friends, family, and networks to donate $20 or more….and bam!!! $5,000! Our guest groups, students, and campers are going to have a blast on the new elements. Thank you for being a part of our #GivingTuesday in 2016!
