Fun, Fellowship, & Fundraising!

On Saturday September 17, 2016, 32 golfers took to the greens of the Greg Mastonia Golf Course at Hyland Hills for our annual Hit it for the Heights golf tournament, in order to raise money for camper scholarships. Through the combined efforts of these golfers finding individual and corporate sponsors, they raised $5,900 for camper scholarships.

These scholarships enable campers (who otherwise would not be able to afford to come to camp) to hear God’s message of love and salvation during our summer programs. Every year, we hear from several families that receive scholarships about how thankful they are that their kids can come to camp and enjoy all the camp activities, meet new friends, and, most of all, go deeper in their relationship with God.

We received this note in the mail the other day: “Thanks a lot Covenant Heights Staff for providing a scholarship so I could go to camp this year,  thank you so much and I really appreciate it,  I had so much fun at camp.” What an opportunity, to help provide these experiences to kids!

This year, we also added a fun new contest to Hit it for The Heights.  Our Golden Putter Church Challenge was awarded to Castle Oaks Covenant, with the winning team of Will Veith, Dan Bloomdahl, Tommy Wozniak, and Mitchell Colander.  Great job guys!  Bring a team from your church next year for a chance to win the Golden Putter!

God has moved through the hearts and lives of the campers and staff this last summer and we are so excited that we can continue to offer scholarships to those in need. We are looking forward to next summer and once again having campers and staff spreading the love of Christ throughout Covenant Heights. Thank you to everyone (sponsors, golfers, and volunteers) that was involved to make this day such a huge success.  We will see you again in 2017.  For more information, please go to www.CovenantHeights.org/events/hit-it-for-the-heights.
