Family Camp is Back, and Here to Stay!

What a fantastic Labor Day Weekend!

We had a blast with all of the families who came up to The Heights for this first annual Labor Day Weekend Family Camp- thank you all for coming! It was a blessing to be able to bless & have fun with your families!

Amongst our exciting activities and camp traditions, we also had family-oriented chapel services, plenty of delicious food, gorgeous mountain weather, family game nights, and lots of fun!

There were campfires & roasting marshmallows, family relay races, canoeing & fishing, family scavenger hunts, talent shows, songs, family chapel times, ice cream sundaes, hiking, a carnival with bounce houses & volleyball tournaments, hiking, a BBQ cookout, and so much more!

We heard from so many family members about how this weekend impacted them.

A grandmother/mother shared with us how she was enjoying this opportunity to get to know her son-in-law better; she said she was learning whole new layers about him, watching him and her grandchildren do camp activities!

A set of parents told us how much the care & attention given their children throughout the weekend meant to them (and how much they appreciated the parents' date night too!)

And we heard from one of the mothers, who is confined to a wheelchair:

"My sincerest appreciation for Covenant Heights, your love and acceptance for my [daughter] Destiny, and accommodating my unique family last weekend. I so appreciate your help...showing my kids that even their mom can do the zipline, and that we all do hard things for greatness, in this case the experience and unity of all three of us being able to fly through the sky!!!  I'm both mom and dad to them; both kids have a sense of wonder when I do crazy activities like this!!... I also wanted to share some magic that has happened after Family Camp. My relationship with [another Family Camp family] continues to build. [Their son] sent Destiny mail and they had a 20 minute telephone call on Friday!!! We are talking about visiting their church and having a play date [soon]! And lastly, [another Family Camp family] directed me to Grace Place (a Covenant Church) and it's a perfect fit for our family! Thank you again!!! Destiny can't wait for Winter Camp!!"

What a weekend of blessings for the campers, and for our staff. We are already in preparation and prayer over Family Camp 2017.

Mark your calendars now for September 1-4, 2017, and keep your eyes out for our emails announcing the opening of registration

We hope to see you there!
